Samples

Samples (also known as 'identifications') are specimens collected in association with a field record. This usually includes a physical sample of a plant or animal that can later be submitted to DArT for analysis.

Samples note the species collected, the type/number of species in the sample, and any additional comments. This is given an N-reference which uniquely identifies it in your Ecologue instance.

Sample Navigation

The Sample Navigation page lists all samples uploaded to your Ecologue instance.

Field Record Samples

You can also view samples from the Field Records page which will list samples taken from a specific field record.

Create a Sample

Select the Create Sample button to create a new sample for a field record.

You cannot create a sample from the Sample Navigation page. All new samples must be created from an associated field record. Additionally, samples must be managed in the web application as the functionality is unavailable in the mobile application.
